masters in architecture, landscape and urbanism

A Small studio leads a master’s design unit at the University of Greenwich. During the academic year 22/23 we are working on Future Coasts / Lost Land, which explores future practices of designing with water, working with gradients of wetness/dryness. Practices/projects look at the wetness/dryness of rivers and flooding, of rain and clouds, and of bodies and objects. We look at the physical forms, densities, depths, distributions, conditions, velocities, and trajectories of wetness/dryness. We also look at the causes, policies, designs, and infrastructures that mediate terms of wetness/dryness. We explore relations between local projects and regional and territorial systems. Most importantly, we develop shared, public, collective practices/projects of wetness/dryness that can make sense of - and respond creatively to - prevailing and future challenges faced by communities in some of the most precarious coastal landscapes on the Thames and the North Sea.
