a greek apartment
Chania, Greece
Type | Residential refurbishment and extension
Client | Private
Status | Started December 2019
This is an interior design project of an existing flat in Chania, Greece. The client has a ground floor three-bedroom flat, which will become her main residence. She also aspires to have two welcoming bedrooms for her daughters to visit once or twice a year.
As well as this, she wants to convert part of the apartment into a Airbnb. The properties should not be completely separate, as the house needs to work as a whole when her daughters visit.
The flat’s conceptual specifications are to have a modern and cosy aesthetic interior, contrasted by the existing furniture alongside new elements. The wall layout will remain the same, but an effort will be made in making better use of corridor and circulation spaces. All fixtures, finishes and materiality will embrace the existing furniture with a modern twist. The client is also very keen on having hidden storage spaces spread around the house.
