This is an interior design project of an existing flat in Chania, Greece. The Client has a ground floor, three bedroom flat, and aspires for the flat to become her main residence. She also aspirs to have two welcoming bedrooms for her daugthers to visit ones or twice each year and stay with their families. More importantly, though, she wants to convert part of her three bed apartment into a Airbnb so she can receive a steady income. The properties should not be completely separate, as the house needs to work as a whole when her daughters visit.
The flat’s specifications ‘conceptually’ are to have a modern and cosy aesthetic interior, contrasted by the exsiting old furniture that will remain and maybe refreshed. The wall layout will remain the same, but an effort will be made in making better use of corridor and circulation spaces . All fixtures, finishes and materiality should embrace the existing furniture with a modern twist. The Client is also very keen on having hidden storage spaces spread out around the house.
